The Crimson Tide veteran scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime to seal his team’s first victory of the season. Spaulding faced a five-point halftime deficit against Mount Abraham before Pierson helped his team build a 22-19 lead. The Eagles tied the game with a late field goal and then Spaulding’s defense held Mount Abraham scoreless on the first overtime series. Spaulding’s Grady Chase made a 9-yard gain on his team’s first play of the extra period and then Pierson finished the job for a 28-22 victory. Spaulding will travel to play Mount Mansfield at 3 p.m. Saturday.
