Tide hockey coach David Lawrence: "Emily is just a really good athlete. So even though playing hockey wasn't natural to her when she started out as a freshman, she could already skate a little bit. And she has decent skating speed, so she can keep up really well and put herself in good positions. And she competes - she doesn't back away if she gets a chance to make a play. She has some good self-confidence in what she can do. And being a well-rounded athlete always gives her an opportunity to make a difference out there."
