Tapping into tradition

Brothers Dan and Doug Bragg from the Bragg Farm Sugar House bring out the buckets as they prepare to tap a sugarbush in East Montpelier on Thursday. The Braggs have about 2,000 taps and still rely solely on buckets and hand collection, one of the last remaining commercial operations to use traditional methods.
