I suppose it was bound to happen sooner or later. We folks in central Vermont are coming to the end of an era. In the very near future, Dr. Craig Sullivan of the Green Mountain Family Practice in Northfield will be retiring.
You know, I once read somewhere that if you've just had a really great flight, one of the nicest things you could say to the pilot is "nice landing."
Now I am scratching my head here. What meaningful, appropriate words are there to adequately thank a physician as great as our own Dr. Sullivan? Seriously, words like "Thanks, Doc, you did a good job" just don't seem to cut it.
Dr. Craig Sullivan has clearly gone above and beyond the call of duty. He has been there for us. He's had our backs. It is obvious that this compassionate human being eats, lives, thinks and breathes medicine. He is one in 10 million, and he'll never be replaced. He is the "Batman" of medicine.
We'll miss you, Doc, but you know we're happy for you. We love you. In closing, I guess I 'll just say, "Nice landing."
