I was very impressed by the New Hampshire governor's inaugural address — especially this part of it: “I am proud to announce today the creation of what we are calling the New Hampshire Career Academy — working with our community college system existing funds, our students can now take advantage of an optional fifth year of high school that will enable them to receive a high school diploma, a certificate and a college associate's degree free of cost to the student.”

Meanwhile, our Vermont students are graduating high school with no employment skills and our employers (chefs/cooks, HVAC, factories, garages are some that I personally know of) are crying for help with no qualified applicants to fill (according to David Zuckerman) the 10,000 job vacancies in Vermont.
