It was refreshing to read the letter from Deb Billado (Aug. 22). She made some very valid points. I could see the attacks coming in the articles to follow.

Not everyone in Vermont is far left, nor do we want to be. I think Deb Billado deserves to be heard, and have fair-minded people absorb what she's saying. These attacks are what's dividing the country, intolerance of others opinions.

I think the left has not learned from the last election, because this is why Trump was elected. I think the left could be a little more tolerant, and a little more understanding of others' opinions. Until the left is willing to be a little closer to the middle of the road, there will be division.

Sure he has 'second thoughts' just like you, just like myself, --- Kirk you conveniently left out 'about everything' not just having second thoughts.

Yup, his best words are very well thought out like #44 --- Obama again - just can't let it go, can you Kirk?

I too can't come up with a single verse from the Bible, --- Come on Kirk - Let him who is without sin cast the first stone - paraphrased of course, is common or maybe 'In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.' or 'Love thy neighbor as thyself.' but then these don't work for Trump now do they?

Come on AL, 'farm aid' has been going on for decades, this is nothing new. --- Newsweek: 16 May 2019 Speaking on Fox News Thursday, Edelburg placed today's financial stresses squarely on the Trump administration's trade war with China and failure to assist U.S. farmers.

"We have more commodities, more grain sitting on the ground now because we lost huge export markets," she said. "We've lost export markets that we've had for 30 years that we'll never get a chance to get back again. Farmers are hopeful to get their crops in the ground this year but really hopeful we have a place to sell it come fall."

Social Security is also what it is. --- SS is self-funded the legislature uses the money elsewhere because like a small child it is there and they can't leave it alone.

Guns are made of metal, wood, and other products and simply not capable of being a 'mental health’ problem. Guns are an inanimate object, they are not alive. --- Then why does Trump blame the shootings on mental health issues, Kirk?

Mr. Trump's playbook is really simple aim at simple minds whence simple minds keep stumbling over themselves to the public criticism arena to make simpleton conclusions time and time again. It is like playing fetch with the dog. --- Exactly Kirk and the many 'dog whistles' he casts upon the water are meant for you and the rest of his supporters. 12,000 lies later you still chase after them and carry them for him.

Suicide among farmers is now twice the National average.....of what Basket weavers?!? Now twice of average of what?!?! --- CDC: Suicides among farmers are 1.5 times higher than the national average, and could be higher because some farm suicides could be masked as farm-related accidents, according to the CDC.

Right Kirk! Having a short memory has nothing to do with it. Trump "always has second thoughts" about everything. In other words he can't remember what his stand is on anything.

There is a big difference between unpredictable and no consistent position. I will do this or that, next day someone (NRA, Republican legislature, Moscow Mitch) points out "they" don't like his choice and then he flips.

Guns are a mental health problem now but he is the one who signed an Executive Order allowing people with documented mental health issues to have access to guns.

Socialism is bad but he is the one giving $28 billion to farmers because his trade war is literally killing them. Suicide among farmers is now twice the national average.

The self-proclaimed chosen one (as the con-man looks up at the sky, but can't cite a single verse from the Bible) will protect you, Kirk. The King of Israel,(and here I thought you supporters claimed he was our president) will be there for you I'm sure.

He knows the best words? He can't put together a complete coherent thought. Take his statement (his exact words don't sound unpredictable to me in the least) on replacing the ACA -"We have to come up, and we can come up with many different plans. In fact, plans you don't even know about will be devised because we're going to come up with plans - healthcare plans - that will be so good." Over two years ago, when the Republicans were in complete control - where is the plan, let alone PLANS? Four times he used plans is extremely predictable he doesn't have a clue what he is saying.

Then of course he stated "Who knew it would be so complicated? News flash Kirk - everyone knew, everyone but Trump, but then he "'ALWAYS HAS SECOND THOUGHTS" about everything.

Kirk

Sure he has 'second thoughts' just like you, just like myself, don't be so pretentious Al.

Yup, his best words are very well thought out like #44...…..well, uhhhh, errrr, hmmmm, errrrr, errrrr. You do know why he hasn't come up with a healthcare plan that satisfies you, don't you.

I too can't come up with a single verse from the Bible, I guess in your world I am doomed to the arms of Lucifer. Al, you are not the judge and jury, you are just another keyboard artist like myself.

Come on AL, 'farm aid' has been going on for decades, this is nothing new. Social Security is also what it is.

And that my folks is the way it is.

Kirk

A little tidbit for you Al, the three riskiest occupations for men, since most farmers are men, were construction and extraction; arts, design, entertainment, sports and media; and installation, maintenance and repair. Geeze, we don't see 'farmers' in there anywhere do we :-/

hello, mr. celley: regarding your letter in the times-argus today, tis always "the left this" and the "left that" with you guys. but, lots of folks in this country, other than the "extreme left" find trump to be an abhorrent person and a terrible president, in case you haven't noticed. and, i would take issue with your assessment as to why he won in 2016. in my humble onion, i think the dems put up a mediocre candidate who ran a lackluster campaign. i, for one, voted for her but with little enthusiasm. and, i have to confess, i never thought trump would be as bad as he has been...

Kirk

It is really fun as an Independent watch the Trump haters reactions to every move our President makes. People have very short memories. Mr. Trump stated BEFORE the Inaugural Ball that he loves to be unpredictable. Every move he makes is a set-up for the Dems and they fall for it every time. You would think that 2+ years later, the Dems would figure him out but to no avail...……...LOL
