On Saturday, June 15, a benefit concert titled "Welcoming the Stranger" will be held at St. Augustine Church in Montpelier at 7 p.m.
What a wonderful chance to help provide real support for the migrants who are having difficulties along our southern boarder. All funds raised will be sent to parishes working with the migrants. No one wants them to risk their health, or even worse, their lives while trying to make a new life in our country.
The question I then have to ask is this: Are we also willing to welcome the most "unwelcome stranger" — the unwanted child in the womb. Will we give her a chance to enter life in our country or must she sacrifice her life at the border of life?
