Stanley A. Jacobs rites BARRE CITY - A Mass of Christian Burial to honor and celebrate the life of Stanley A. Jacobs, 80, of Barre, was held on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. He passed away on Oct. 22, 2018, at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative/Hospice Care at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. The Rev. Leopold J. Bilodeau, former pastor of the church, was the celebrant. Crucifer was Fred Letourneau. Spencer Woolson, grandson, was urn bearer. Organist and vocalist, Rosemary Badeau, accompanied vocalists, Ronald Routhier and Cece Barber, in the hymns, “Amazing Grace,” “Prayer of St. Francis,” “Be Not Afraid” and “How Great Thou Art.” Special violinist Pat George, sister-in-law, and soloist Bethany Milo, granddaughter, sang “You Raise Me Up.” Words of remembrance were shared by his daughter, Kim Woolson. Words written by Jim Howard (who was unable to attend) were read by Amy Arsenault, daughter. Scripture readings from the Old Testament were read by Janelle Brennan, granddaughter. The psalm was read by Shane Woolson, grandson. Readings from the New Testament were read by Nicole Carrier, granddaughter. Father Bilodeau read the Gospel and delivered the homily. Offertory gifts were presented at the altar by Tim Brennan, Spencer Woolson and Shane Woolson, all grandchildren. Assisting as Eucharistic minister was Victor Badeau. Committal prayers were held, following the Mass, by Father Bilodeau who also gave the final blessing. Following the committal prayers, family and friends gathered in the church meeting room for a time of fellowship and refreshments. Arrangements were in the care of the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St., Barre, Vermont.
