Rodney A. Day rites BENNINGTON — A funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Rodney A. Day, 49, was held on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Chapel in Randolph Center. He passed away on Aug. 29, 2019, at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington. The Rev. Mr. Daniel L. Pudvah, deacon of St. Monica Catholic Church of Barre, led the service, read the 23rd Psalm and delivered the homily. Words of remembrance were shared by Cheryl Cloutier, a family friend. Pallbearers were Emile Gosselin, Benny Gosselin, Andre Gosselin, Jason Gosselin, Jon Gosselin and Josh Gosselin. Full military honors were accorded the deceased by the U.S. Air Force Funeral Honors Team of Burlington. The Honor Guard and Firing Party were provided by the Randolph American Legion Post #10. Volleys were fired and taps sounded. The American flag was folded and presented to his daughter, Regan Day. During calling hours Wednesday evening, soloist Cheryl Cloutier sang “Fall On Me;” also, a large delegation of the Barre Town Police and Fire departments were in attendance at the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home in Barre. Arrangements were in the care of the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St., Barre.
