Richard M. Woodruff rites MONTPELIER — The Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Richard M. Woodruff was held on Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, at 10 a.m. in the St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. He passed away on Jan. 29, 2019. Rev. Peter O’Leary, pastor of the church, was the celebrant and was assisted by crucifer and altar server, Victor Badeau. Pianist and organist, Rosemary Badeau, accompanied fellow singers, Paul Plante and Ron Routhier, and the congregation in the hymns, “On Eagle’s Wings,” “Prayer of St. Francis” and “I Am the Bread of Life.” His brother, Stephen J. Woodruff, gave the eulogy. His sister, Mary Woodruff, read from the Old Testament and the New Testament reading was done by his niece, Amanda Clark. Father O’Leary proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. The offertory gifts were presented at the altar by nieces Kristin Woodruff, Meghan Maurice and Amanda Clark. A private interment will take place in the Lincoln-Noyes Cemetery in Greensboro at the convenience of the family. The pallbearers were brothers Stephen J. Woodruff, Frank E. Woodruff Jr., David A. Woodruff, Paul A. Woodruff, and nephew-in-law Jeremy K. Clark. Following the service, family and friends gathered at the Quarry Restaurant for a time of fellowship and sharing. The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre, was in charge of the arrangements.
