Patricia M. "Ticia" Medeiros BERLIN — Patricia M.“Ticia” Medeiros, age 71, passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, at the Berlin Health & Rehabilitation facility, following a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. Ticia, as she insisted she be called, was born March 9, 1948, in Barre, Vermont, to Wendell B. and Marion Allard Reed. She was a 1966 Spaulding High School graduate and lived most of her life in Barre. She was formerly married to Jack Medeiros. Ticia was a very outgoing person who loved being around people, and her employment choices were a perfect fit. She worked for the then-Vermont Department of Employment & Training as a switchboard operator/receptionist, performed country songs at local venues, was an events coordinator at a Brattleboro hotel, and—by far her most favorite job—was as a bartender at Country Cuzzins in Barre. She was so at home there that she had “her” stool and when the building was later destroyed by fire, the only barstool to survive was delivered to her home as a souvenir. Ticia enjoyed socializing immensely. She loved to laugh, joke, dance and flirt. Whether it was at the Cuzzins or the VFW on the East Barre Road with her “partner in crime,” Don Rennie, she was always surrounded by friends. She will be missed by many. Ticia is survived by her sister, Wanda Reed Miller and partner Richard Knowlton; niece Desiree Buswell and partner Larry Briggs; nephews Max Miller and fiancée Jacquie Ripley and stepson Landen, Jeff Reed and Kris Reed; grandniece Samantha Reed; and BFF Faye Wilder. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Wayne Reed, and partner Don Rennie. A celebration of Ticia’s life is planned for Saturday afternoon on March 7, from 1-3 PM, at the VFW Post on the East Barre Road. The Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Those who wish to send online condolences may do so at: www.pruneaupollifuneralhome.com.
