Nancy J. Long 1935 - 2019 BARRE TOWN — Nancy J. Long passed away peacefully at home and went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 2, 2019. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, on April 16, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Jane (Taylor) Salter. At various times, she called Connecticut, Georgia and Vermont her home. Nancy was a devoted wife and mother who loved her children. She enjoyed reading, watching old movies, talking on the phone, looking through catalogs, shopping and especially, Christmas! Nancy will be most remembered for her love of Jesus and faithfulness in prayer for others. Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Samuel W. Foss Jr.; and sister, Betty Whitely. She is survived by two sisters Dody Cagenello (Bruce) and Susan Salter (Pat), of Connecticut; two children Stephen Foss (Pamela), of Florida, Holly Stockett (Robert), of Vermont; eight grandchildren Charles and Christian Savoia, Jason and Lydia Stockett, Michael, Shaun, Christopher and Megan Foss; and two great-grandchildren Evalie and Colton Foss. A Mass of Christian burial to honor and celebrate her life will be held Thursday, June 6, 2019, at 11 a.m. at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Barre. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Touched by Love International, 317 Beckley Hill Road, Barre, VT 05641.
