Marie J. Martin NORTHFIELD — Marie Jean Martin, 59, of Pearl Street, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019, at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin. Born March 22, 1960, in Springfield, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Edward M. and Shelby J. (Lamell) Blow. Marie attended Barre Town Elementary School and graduated from Williamstown High School. After graduation, she made her home in Orange and later moved to Northfield. Employed as a recovery specialist at the Vermont State Employees Credit Union, Marie spent her spare time golfing with family and playing cards – especially poker and cribbage. She was a member of a local cribbage league. Marie loved to joke and laugh with others and travel – trips to the beach were special to her; her favorite pastimes were coffee and reading. Survivors include her daughter, Shelby-Lynne Lunn, of Roxbury; her granddaughter, Avah Lunn; her mother, Shelby Blow and partner John Graves, of East Barre; her brothers Bruce Blow and wife Katy, of East Montpelier, and Ralph Blow, of Florida; as well as her companion, Thomas Martin, of Barre. Marie was predeceased by her father, Edward M. Blow. A celebration of Marie’s life will be held at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice, 600 Granger Road, Barre, VT 05641. The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre, assisted the Martin family with the arrangements.
