Linda Valerie (Croteau) Godin BARRE CITY — Linda Valerie (Croteau) Godin of North Seminary Street passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at her home. She was born on Dec. 18, 1946, affectionately called "Linnie" by her parents and close relatives. She was predeceased by her mother, Ethel C. (LaMoy) Croteau, and her father, Harvey P. Croteau. Her family includes two daughters Jessica Godin and Rebecca (Godin) Teese; her older brother, Loren Croteau, and his children (Peter, Valerie, Michael and Donna); and she was predeceased by her older sister, Carolyn Croteau; additionally, there are a myriad of cousins out there from the LaMoy and Croteau family roots. Linda enjoyed her favorite soap opera, General Hospital, and playing card games, including bezique, rummy, hand and foot, and cribbage, to name a few. She never met a person she wasn’t glad to talk to, nor a cat in need that she didn’t help. A graveside ceremony to honor and celebrate her life will be held in Hope Cemetery in Barre on Friday, May 10, 2019, at 11 a.m. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Central Vermont Humane Society, P.O. Box 687, Montpelier, VT 05601.
