Kent E. Gray BARRE/NORTH HYDE PARK — Kent E. Gray, 82, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Woodbridge Nursing Home in Berlin. He was born November 6, 1936 in North Hyde Park, the son of Earl Gray and Ruth Potter Gray. He was a graduate of Lamoille Central Academy and went on receive his Bachelor’s degree from Johnson State College and later received a Master’s degree from Rutgers University. He served as the Head Librarian at the Midstate Regional Library in Berlin for a number of years and also served the Assistant State Librarian at the Vermont State Library in Montpelier. Kent loved music and liked to sing. He was well-read and enjoyed reading the newspapers daily. He also loved cats. Kent was an avid Red Sox and Celtics fan. He is survived by his sons, Kevin E. Gray of Barre and Matthew C. Gray and wife, Megan of Long Beach, CA. He is also survived by his former wife, Carol Gray of Barre. He was predeceased by both of his parents. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lamoille View Cemetery in Johnson. Faith Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
