Joseph E. Henes Jr. GLOVER — Joseph E. Henes Jr., 82, of Glover and formerly of Barre, passed away Monday, June 24, 2019, at the Union House Nursing Home in Glover. Born in Morristown on May 21, 1937, he was the son of the late Joseph E. Henes Sr. and Dora E. (Demars) Henes. Joseph attended Barre City Schools and was a graduate of Spaulding High School, Class of 1956. After his schooling, he was employed as a draftsman for Green Mountain Power up until his retirement in 1998. In November of 1957, he married Lorena Hebert in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. They made their home in Barre before moving to Burlington in 1986. Joseph was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre where he served as usher for many years. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus, Bishop Brady Council. Among his interests were gardening, bowling, painting, weight lifting, drawing and spending precious time with his family and friends. Survivors include one daughter, Connie Davis and husband Eddie, of Houston, Texas; two sons Richard Henes, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Todd Henes Sr. and wife Penny, of Barre. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is one brother, Ernest Henes and wife Gwendolyn, and one sister, Mary Savard, all of Mesa, Arizona. A Mass of Christian Burial to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. Burial will follow the Mass, in the Fairview Cemetery in Hardwick. There will be no calling hours. Contributions in Joseph’s memory may be made to the Washington County Mental Health, P.O. Box 647, Montpelier, VT 05601; or to St. Monica Catholic Church, 79 Summer St., Barre, VT 05641. Arrangements are in the care of the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St., Barre. Connie, Richard, Todd, Ernest, Mary and Families, on behalf of the 4th Degree Members of the Knights of Columbus of Vermont, please accept our condolences on the untimely passing of your Father and Brother...Every Knight of Columbus is entrusted to the care of Mary, the Mother of God, and we carry the Rosary as the sign of our dedication to her and to her Son. Confident in her motherly love for us all, we entrust the soul of our brother Joseph to her, that she may present him to her Son. As an expression of our fraternal concern and as the District Master of the 4th Degree of Vermont, I will pray the rosary of Our Lady in his honor. May God's Grace be a shining light in your hearts for those we love don't go away, they are walking besides us every day.
