Janet "Posie" (Battey) McElhaney CHELSEA — Janet “Posie” (Battey) McElhaney, age 64, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, at home in Randolph, Vermont, surrounded by family. She was born Oct. 8, 1955, in Bar Mills, Maine, to Hoyt and Jean (Davis) Battey. She married David McElhaney and lived for a time in Wyoming. She most recently opened her own business called "Posie's Pincushion" where she worked as a seamstress, tailor and all around craft-maker. She is survived by her brother, Ned Battey; her daughter, Cindi Linn; her daughter, Nanci Jean; and her grandchildren, Essence, Dante, Antonio and Max. Family, friends and others whose lives Janet touched are invited to the Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home in Chelsea, Vermont, to support each other, grieve and, of course, to reminisce, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020, with an Order of the Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. The Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home in Chelsea is in charge of arrangements.
