Jacqueline M. Otis BARRE — Jacqueline M. Otis, 79, of Portland Street, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at her home, surrounded by her family. Jackie was born on Feb. 17, 1940, in Passumpsic. She was the daughter of Victor and Clarilda (LaPerle) Jalbert. She attended Spaulding High School. Jerry and Jackie were married on Aug. 31, 1957, in St. Monica’s Church. They celebrated 61 years of marriage. They made their home in Barre and raised six children. Jackie was employed at Sprague Electric until their closing, she then worked at Waterbury Co. until her retirement. Jackie had a deep love for her family, always there for everyone. After her children where grown, she spent countless hours with her grandchildren, she was proud of her family. She loved unconditionally. In early years, they camped and met lifelong friends, she loved yard sales, she taught many grandchildren to swim, she enjoyed time with family and friends. Jackie was predeceased by her son, Donald; granddaughter, April, and great-grandson, Hunter; parents; brothers Roger and Norman; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. She is survived by her husband of 61 years; her daughters Diane and Michael Kohls, Linda and Marc Couture; her sons Marcel and Linda Otis, David and Diane Otis, Gerard Jr. and Chantel Otis; grandchildren Malinda, Sarah, Raeline, Lisa, Marissa, Carlos, Corey, Caitlyn, Colleen, Meah, Mya, Richard, Dalton, Dylan, Demitri, Yvonne, Stella, Grant, Mason, and 14 great-grandchildren; her sister, Pauline Otis; sister-in-law Bonnie Jalbert, brother-in-law Fernand and Dorothy Otis, sister-in-law Susan Archangelo; many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her special friend, Betty Hurlburt, the staff at CVMC, CVHHH, Barre Gardens and the Barre City Ambulance crew. Services will be held at St. Monica’s Catholic Church on Friday, April 5, at 11 a.m. Burial will be at a later date. Memorial contributions can be sent to Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, P.O.
