Harold W. Drown HARDWICK — Harold William Drown, 84, of Homosassa, Florida, and formerly of Hardwick, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019, at Life Care Center in Lecanto, Florida. He was born Dec. 6, 1934, in Hardwick, the son of Arthur and Dorothy (Bowdish) Drown. He graduated in 1954 from Hardwick Academy. Mr. Drown entered the U.S. Air Force in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1957. He married Cynthia Jean Dustin April 3, 1965, in Stowe. He was employed as a scale mechanic for Fairbanks in St. Johnsbury, retiring in 1996. Mr. Drown was a member of United Church of Hardwick and American Legion Post #7 in Hardwick. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed basketball games and traveling. Survivors include several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Jan. 6, 2006; and two sisters, Virginia Brochu and Catherine Gaboriault. Burial will be at a later date in Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hardwick Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 837, Hardwick, VT 05843. Arrangements are by Northern Vermont Funeral Service in Hardwick.
