Fern E. Farr WATERBURY — Fern Etta Farr, 87, of Lakeland, Florida, and formerly of Waterbury, passed away in Lakeland on Feb. 23, 2019. Born in Moretown on Sept. 21, 1931, she was a daughter of the late William R. and Ethie Mae (Alexander) Humphrey. On July 12, 1953, she married Ralph G. Farr Jr. in Waterbury. Ralph predeceased Fern on Feb. 26, 2006. Fern was a 1950 graduate of Waterbury High School. She earned her LPN degree in 1983 from the Traviss Vocational School. Fern worked in the medical field for a number of years as a psychiatric technician and later, was employed as an LPN in multiple facilities. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading and road trips. Her most recent was a five-week journey touring the National Parks of Wyoming, South Dakota and the U.S. Southwest region. Fern is survived by her children Gary and Debra Farr, of Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, Sherry Camley and Bradford Sheff, of Northfield, Dana and Carol Farr, of Wilmington, Delaware, Melanie and Jeffrey Donahue, Valerie and Robert Brady, Kelly Farr, all of Lakeland, and Steven Farr, of Webster, Massachusetts; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers Phillip and Marlene Humphrey, Bruce and Bonnie Humphrey, all of Waterbury; a brother-in-law, Howard Mansfield, of Waterbury Center; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Fern was also predeceased by her sisters Doris Dolloff, June Holden, Betty “Betsy” Dolloff, Juanita Dow, Marylee Mansfield; and by a brother, William “Bud” Humphrey. Graveside services will be held from Hope Cemetery in Waterbury on a date and time to be announced in June.
