Denise J. Baker MONTPELIER — Denise Jane Baker, age 71, died Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington. She was born August 15, 1947 in Northfield and was the daughter of Edward and Juliette (Chartier) Messier. She married Duane Baker and later divorced. Mrs. Baker was formerly of Northfield and had been a long time employee of Cabot Hosiery Company. Mrs. Baker is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Baker of West Topsham and Tammy Baker of West Danville; two brothers, Marcel Messier of Northfield and Edward Messier of Williamstown; three sisters, Alice Duprey of Underhill, Lorette Bainridge of Northfield and Yvonne Kandelis of Springfield, MA, five grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, five brothers, Thomas Messier, Sam Messier, Paul Messier, Ramond Messier and Carmey Messier; five sisters, Lucille Jarvis, Rachel Ganser, Louise Beauvais, Vivian Trapani and Evette Beaudreau. A graveside service and burial will take place in spring, 2019 in the family lot in Calvary Cemetery in Northfield. Kingston Funeral Home in Northfield assisted the family with arrangements.
