D. Gary Merrill BARRE — D. Gary Merrill, 64, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2019, as a result of a broken heart, both literally and figuratively; in death, he has been reunited with the love of his life. D. Gary Merrill was born on March 11, 1955, in Barre, the son of Dorian and Doreen (Ladd) Merrill. Gary attended Barre City schools and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1974. Gary married Laurel “Lori” Brown in August of 1973, who died in December of 2010. Gary was a longtime employee of L.B. Smith and, later, Hill Martin Corp. which became Tenco Industries. Gary cared deeply about his family and loved telling stories of fond memories with family and friends. He also loved to be outside in the sunshine, enjoyed riding his motorcycle and flying kites. He leaves behind two sons Gary and partner Jody, of Duxbury, and Ryan and partner Marissa, of Barre; five siblings sister Charlene and four brothers Brian, Charles, Douglas and Kenneth. Gary was predeceased by his wife; both of his parents; and his brother, Bradley. At his request, there will be no services or calling hours.

I am so sorry to hear of Gary's passing. He will be missed. Very sad but I am sure he is happy and without pain.
