Clarise M. Fresolo MONTPELIER — Clarise M. “Mickey” Fresolo, 93, of Montpelier, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Dec. 29, 2018, at Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin. Born May 17, 1925, in Morristown, to Willis and Gertrude (Alexander) McManis, she was the fifth of six children. Mickey attended Montpelier schools. She met the love of her life, Michael Fresolo Sr., at the Miss Montpelier Diner and they were soon married on Nov. 25, 1943. A loving and devoted mother of six children, Mickey spent her life caring for others. She was a nurse’s aide for Heaton Hospital and Heaton House and it was a career that she truly loved; however, her family was her pride and joy. Mickey was also very proud to have been a resident of Prospect Street in Montpelier for 90 years, where she made lifelong friends with her neighbors. Small yet mighty, Mickey touched the lives of many people during her 93 years. She will be remembered for her strength, compassion, quick wit, fierce loyalty and as a role model, mentor and mother to all. Mickey is survived by her children Cecile White and husband Ed, Susan Fresolo and fiancé Frank Prima III, Pamela Fresolo and partner James Williams, Lisa Thurston and husband Rick, and son-in-law Mark Renner. She was a doting Gram to three grandchildren Amber Smith and husband Kevin, Kaley Thurston, Emma Renner; and Gramammy to Ava Thurston. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 43 years, Michael Sr.; son Michael Jr. and daughter Janell Renner; as well as her siblings Cecil McManis, Willard McManis, Margaret Peatman, Glendene Higgins and Clarence McManis. After the loss of her beloved son, Mike, Mickey’s heart began to mend again as she formed an unbreakable bond with her son-in-law, Rick. Mickey was able to live independently and stay in her Prospect Street home until age 90 thanks to the love and care given by Rick and Lisa. For that, Mickey was forever grateful. Calling hours will be held Thursday, Jan. 3, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Guare and Sons Funeral Home, Montpelier. A funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 4, at 11 a.m. at Guare and Sons with reception to follow. Burial will take place in the spring in Berlin Corners Cemetery, Berlin. Contributions in memory of Mickey may be made to the Woodridge Activity Fund, P.O. Box 547, Barre, VT 05641. Those wishing to express online condolences may do so at www.guareandsons.com.
