In everlasting memory of Annette Rose Couture Hernandez Born Feb. 14, 1931, Barre, VT Died July 24, 2019, New Milford, CT BARRE — On Wednesday, July 24, 2019, Annette Rose Couture Hernandez, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and sister-in-law, passed away at age 88. Annette, the eldest of eight children, was born to Romelus and Adrienne Jacques Couture on Feb. 14, 1931, in Barre. She married William Hector Hernandez Jr. on Sept. 15, 1951, at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Barre. Annette graduated from Spaulding High School and Barre School of Nursing. She was a dedicated Registered Nurse serving in multiple capacities over her career, from operating room to labor and delivery. Her co-workers, patients, friends, neighbors and extended family adored her. Annette upheld her New England work ethic with her long career, by raising seven children, all of whom went to college, by creating incredible flower and rock gardens wherever she lived, and famously making crullers and jelly doughnuts from scratch. Annette was predeceased by her husband, William H. Hernandez Jr.; her sister, Jane Couture; sisters- and brothers-in-law Elsa Hernandez Lesinski Brenner, Hendrick Lesinski, George Gale, Roland (Joe) Shaw, Janet Couture, Vickie Couture and Susan Couture; nephew, David Gale; niece, Susan Shaw; and grandson, Edmund Webber. She is survived by her sisters and brothers Carmen Gale, Armand, Rita Hess, Robert (Mary Ann), Roger and John (Brenda div); her seven children Elena Cristina (Aaron) Bodin, Joanne Carmen (Steven Goldstein div), Laura Anne (Carl Cipriani), William Hector III (Amy Lane), Andree Maria, Annette Susan (Daniel Banks) and Elsa Marie (Stephen) Riley; her grandchildren Emily Jane Hernandez Goldstein (Sol) Cooperdock, Roseana Maria (Bob) Burick, Jeffery Webber, William Hector Hernandez IV (Ashley Kerns), David Jay Hernandez, Celia and Chloe Taylor, Tony DiCarlo (Brielle Goldfaden), Kristen Annette DiCarlo (Danny) Cohen, Deanna Adrienne DiCarlo (Norman) Griffiths, Gianni Francis DiCarlo, Justin Mark Alsup, Stephen Joseph Riley Jr., Connor Patrick Riley and Erin Rose Adrienne Riley; her great-grandchildren Razia Hernandez Goldstein Cooperdock, Sophie Annette Hernandez, Henry Paul and Maison Juliette DiCarlo, Tripp William Cohen and Abigail Rose and Emma Grace Griffiths; and her nieces and nephews Lilice Lesinski Boesen, Jane Lesinski Toumpas, Steven Gale, Lorna Gale Michaud, Glenn Gale, Eddie Gale, Kathline Shaw Collins, Cynthia Shaw Nalley, Valerie Shaw Beaudin, Joseph Shaw, Maria Couture Barton, Bobby Couture, Julie Couture Simonelli, Tommy Couture, Ron Couture, Cathy Couture, Beth Couture, Cindy Couture Campos, Ken Couture, Dick Couture, Jason Couture, and Paul Couture. A Mass of Christian Burial to honor Annette’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019, at 11 a.m. in St. Monica’s Catholic Church, Barre. Burial will follow in St. Sylvester Cemetery in Lower Websterville.
