Alan M. LaPerle rites SWANTON - A largely attended Mass of Christian Burial to honor and celebrate the life of Alan M. LaPerle, 57, of Maquam Shore Road, was held on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. He passed away on Nov. 15, 2018, at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington. The Rev. Peter O’Leary, pastor of the church, was the celebrant. Crucifer, Fred Letourneau, was altar server and led the Prayer of the Faithful. Organist and vocalist, Rosemary Badeau, accompanied vocalists, Ronald Routhier and Paul Plante, in the hymns, “On Eagles' Wings,” “Be Not Afraid,” “Amazing Grace,” “Song of Farewell” and “How Great Thou Art.” Soloist, Rosemary Badeau, sang, “Ave Maria.” Words of remembrance were shared by De Ducharme, cousin. Scripture readings from the Old Testament were read by Sheila LaPerle, aunt, and Janet LaPerle, a cousin, read from the New Testament. Father O’Leary read the Gospel and delivered the homily. Offertory gifts were presented at the altar by Amanda Brown, niece; Jaycie Rouleau and Hailee Holt, close family friends. Assisting as Eucharistic minister was Cecile Carbonneau, a longtime family acquaintance. Honorary pallbearers were Travis LaPerle and Justin LaPerle, nephews; Pierre Ducharme, cousin; John Trahan, Dan Tetreault and Steve Dukette, friends. Following the Mass, family and friends gathered at the Canadian Club in Barre for a time of fellowship and luncheon. Arrangements were in the care of the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St., Barre.
