SWANTON, Vt. (AP) — Police in Vermont are searching for a second suspect in a Swanton home invasion in which two teenage boys broke into a home and attacked a woman and her grandson.
WCAX-TV reports U.S. Border Patrol agents captured one of the suspects shortly after the teens aged 15 and 16 had broken into the home early Monday morning.
While the suspect was charged as an adult, police did not release his name because of his age. A second suspect remained at large Monday afternoon.
Police say the teens attacked a sleeping juvenile. The boy’s grandmother was beaten after she tried to intervene.
The two suspects then ransacked the apartment.
Police say they believe the victims were specifically targeted so there is no threat to the public.
