EAST MONTPELIER — A Bethel woman was charged with texting while driving after a two-car head-on collision on Route 2 on Sunday.

Police responded at 5:15 p.m. to the accident near Twin Valley Senior Center, involving a Subaru Forester driven by Lisa Manning, 42, who police said was texting while driving when she crossed the center line.

Her vehicle struck a Kia Soul driven by Kelly Prim, 52, of Williamstown. Prim and three children in the vehicle were taken to Central Vermont Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.

Both vehicles suffered damage to the driver’s side tires.

It was raining and the road was icy at the time of the accident.
