WAITSFIELD – Vermont State Police say a auto repair shop caught fire in Waitsfield Monday.

Police said fire crews arrived to find the two-bay shop owned by Andrew Baird, 55, billowing smoke and flames were coming out of the roof. The fire was located in the back right corner of the building.

Police said that was where an oil boiler had been located. The cause of the fire is undetermined at the moment because police said the shop was devastated and consumed by the blaze.

Nobody was injured and the building is considered a total loss.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Todd Ambroz at 802-229-9191.
