MARSHFIELD – Police say a Marshfield woman assaulted a family member.

Vermont State Police said an assault was reported on Route 2 in Marshfield Saturday. An investigation showed Sarah B. Mashler, 30, had assaulted someone she lived with.

Police said she also damaged the victim's cellphone intentionally so the victim couldn't call emergency services.

The victim was able to contact police after flagging down a passing vehicle, according to police.

Mashler is scheduled to appear in Washington County criminal court Tuesday to answer the charges of domestic assault, aggravated disorderly conduct and interference with access to emergency services.
