NORTHFIELD — The Norwich University Writers Series welcomes Robin MacArthur at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 25 at Chaplin Hall Gallery.
NORTHFIELD — Jaylyn Davidson, a sophomore at Northfield High School, received one of four scholarships offered by Green Mountain Water Environment Association for her science project at the 2019 Vermont Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (VtSTEM) Fair. Her project, “Is Algae Part of the Solution for Environmental Pollution? The Effects of Nutrients on Algae Growth,” explored the potentials for three types of algae and a flowering aquatic plant (duckweed) to help mitigate atmospheric carbon dioxide levels by absorbing and sequestering CO2 through “farming” in lakes and oceans.
LYNDON CENTER — Emily Sherman, a Lyndon Institute junior enrolled in the Career and Technical Education Graphic Arts Program, was selected to design the logo for Wheelock Community Initiative formed to support a sense of community through activities and events. Sherman expanded the logo design to work with letterhead, envelopes and business cards for a complete marketing package.
