BURLINGTON — The University of Vermont Health Network has hired a system-level chief nursing officer to lead and support the nursing practice across Vermont and Northern New York affiliates. 

Annette Macias-Hoag, DNP, MHA, BSN, CENP, NEA-BC, was selected after a national search She has more than 20 years of experience in nurse management, in strategic and operational roles, with expertise in improving patient satisfaction, outcomes and workforce retention. Most recently, she has developed and managed emergency sites to provide health care to unaccompanied minors arriving in the United States.
