Capital City Concerts and the Friends of the Vermont State House presents a new mini-series of consecutive Friday noon "Meditation concerts" on September 6, 13, and 20 in the Cedar Creek Room of the Vermont State House. The FREE concerts give listeners the opportunity to experience world-class performances in a reflective way through 30-minute meditations to live music. Each concert will be performed by one solo instrumentalist. The doors will open at noon, and audience members will find a seat and begin a period of silent meditation. Cellist Emily Taubl will perform on September 20. Having studied at the Juilliard School, Yale School of Music, and the New England Conservatory, Emily now lives in Burlington, VT where she teaches both at the University of Vermont. She is principal cellist of the Springfield Symphony in Springfield, Massachusetts.
