Abstract landscape paintings by Julia Jensen and fabric collages by Elizabeth Bunsen, with live music from The Zeichner Trio and light refreshments.

ART, etc. presents Color Chorus featuring abstract landscape paintings by Julia Jensen and fabric collages by Elizabeth Bunsen. The exhibit is on view for the month of November with an opening reception on Friday November 8th at 6pm. Jensen chases the impression of landscapes with her paintbrush, creating spacious fields of color for the eye to explore. Bunsen celebrates the multifaceted brilliance of life with dynamic assemblages composed of dyed fabrics. Together these artistic works create a celebration of light and color that are a feast for the senses.

When Julia Jensen paints she focuses on color and shape to portray the experience of a passing moment. She illustrates the conscious and unconscious dialogue that exists while standing in a landscape and taking in ones surroundings. She states “Paintings exist at the meeting ground between the external world and one’s internal, emotional, and spiritual responses to it. For me, landscape is the perfect point of access for this exploration.”

Elizabeth Bunsen evokes an exciting sense of harmony in her work by collaborating with natural processes. She dyes, stitches, and layers her pieces in a way that mirrors the growth of ecology, each part depending on another for the effect of the whole. Bridging the gap between 2D and 3D art, Bunsen's pieces are an off the wall experience, challenging the boundaries of tradition.

The opening reception for Color Chorus will feature live music from The Zeichner Trio and light refreshments. ART, etc. is located at 32 Depot Square in Northfield, VT and also features local artisanal crafts. For more information please e-mail artetcvt@gmail.com, visit www.artetcvt.com, Facebook and Instagram @artetcvt, or stop by the gallery Tuesday - Thursday 10-6 and Sundays 11-2.
