• 2 women charged with Vt. house break-in

    Two women have been accused of breaking into a Vermont home to steal gardening supplies.

    Police said the equipment included a weedwacker and some tiles that the women thought would look good in their own home.

    The Eagle-Times reported that homeowner David Bemis in Athens, Vt., saw the women attempting to take the items Friday afternoon.

    Police cited 55-yearold Elizabeth Powell and 54-year-old Juliana Kotori, both of Westminster, on two felony counts of burglary each.

    Both expressed regret and told police that had never done anything like this before.
