Man badly injured
CLARENDON — Police said a local 19-year-old was in critical condition following a drunken-driving crash Tuesday morning.
Vermont State Police responded around 5 a.m. to a report of a crash on Creek Road. Police said Luke Davis of Clarendon was driving south in a 1998 Volvo station wagon when he lost control and hit a culvert, which launched the car through the air until it struck a tree.
Both Davis and his passenger — Dylan Goodrich, 20 — were taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center. Goodrich was treated and released but Davis, due to the extent of his head injuries, was later taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., where he was listed in critical condition.
Police did not say whether either man was wearing a seat belt.
According to police, both Davis and Goodrich had been drinking, as well as taking turns driving. Both were cited for drunken driving and underage consumption of alcohol, police said. They are scheduled to appear in Rutland criminal court March 18.MORE IN This Just InHARTFORD VILLAGE — An off-duty Hartford police officer playing with his own dog at a local dog...
