Police investigate smash-and-grabs
Rutland City Police are seeking a suspect and warning the public about a series of downtown smash-and-grab thefts from vehicles.
Sgt. John Sly said Monday that in the past week a handful of people reported their locked vehicles parked downtown had windows smashed and purses as well as electronic devices stolen.
Sly said police are working to identify a suspect in the cases. He urged the public not to leave any valuables in their parked vehicles, even if the doors are locked.
