BELLOWS FALLS — How do you feed 50 teenagers for four days on a trip to Washington, D.C.? You ask Rachael Ray, of course.
When a Bellows Falls parent, Jenn Cota, sent an e-mail to the popular television chef asking for advice, she got more than she dreamed.
The show sent roughly $1,200 for a grocery shopping spree and also sent celebrity chef Rocco DeSpirito to give the eighth-graders a cooking lesson.
The kids learned how to make frittatas, burritos, meat loaf, and fried chicken last Monday for their trip. The students left May 4 and were back in Vermont on Friday..
A video crew from the show came to the Bellows Falls Middle School to record the effort last week and it will be broadcast at 9 a.m. today locally on WCAX.
