Museum honored with slew of awards

LUDLOW — The Black River Academy Museum has received several awards for its programs.
During its Nov. 6 meeting in St. Albans, the League of Local Historical Societies of the Vermont Historical Society will give the museum the Award of Merit for Exhibits and Museum Techniques for its work with Ludlow Elementary School to create the exhibit, "Barns: A Vanishing Landscape."
The museum will also receive the Award of Merit for Educational Outreach for its exhibit, "Voices from the Past" with Black River middle and high schools. Last, the museum will receive the Award of Merit for Publications and Oral History for Newton Rose and Noah Schmidt's "Calvin Coolidge: Vermont Born and Raised."
