BRATTLEBORO - Northbound travelers on Interstate 91 should exercise caution and plan for delays after four separate accidents this morning forced police to close the passing lane.
Police said three passenger vehicles and one tractor-trailer crashed near the Williams Street Bridge at Exit 2 around 7 a.m.
Vermont State Police, Brattleboro Fire and Rescue Inc. responded and removed the passenger vehicles, but rescue crews are still working on the tractor trailer, which was carrying a load of pallets and came to rest on its side in the median between the north and southbound lanes.
The crashed truck has forced police to close the northbound passing lane and they expect the lane to remain closed for several hours. Southbound traffic is not impacted.
