Benefits for full time employees
Medical and RX Insurance
Full time employees are eligible to participate in a comprehensive health insurance plan through Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Eligibility is effective on the first of the month following 30 days of continuous, full time employment.
Full-time employees are eligible to participate in the dental expense reimbursement plan the first of the month coincident with or following date of hire. The plan pays 100% of the first $150 of dental expenses on an annual basis. Additional dental expenses are reimbursed at 50%, subject to a reimbursement maximum of $1,000 per calendar year per covered individual.
Domestic partners are also eligible to be enrolled in the medical and dental plans.
Full-time employees are eligible for vision care benefits on the first of the month coincident with or following date of employment.
Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
Full-time employees are eligible for life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance on the first of the month coincident with or following 90 days of employment.
Supplemental Insurance – AFLAC
Employees are eligible to participate in several supplemental insurance programs offer by AFLAC the 1st day following their 30th day of employment.
Short Term Disability
Full-time employees are eligible for short-term disability coverage on the first of the month following ninety (90) days of employment.
Long Term Disability
Full-time employees are eligible to participate in the long-term disability plan on the first of the month following ninety (90) days of employment.
Full time employees who have worked a full calendar year are entitled to ten (10) personal/sick days annually, to be awarded each January 1st.
Full-time employees are entitled to a vacation with pay. Vacations will be awarded on January 1. The amount of vacation depends on the length of service (and average hours worked during the previous year). Employees with less than one-year of employment will receive one (1) day of vacation for every five weeks of continuous employment calculated from your start date. On the January 1st after one complete year of employment, employees are awarded two weeks of vacation. After seven years, employees are awarded three weeks of vacation, and after twelve years, employees are awarded four weeks of vacation.
All employees are eligible after 90 days of employment. The Herald Association maximum match is 3.5% to employee’s deferral of 6%.

Reduced membership to First in Fitness in Berlin is available as a payroll deduction for employees and their families.
Dependent Care/Flexible Benefits Plan
