    Northfield 3, Hazen 2

    NORTHFIELD — Hazen netted the game’s first goal but Northfield came back and held off the Wildcats for a 3-2 boys soccer win on Wednesday in the season opener for both teams.

    Luke Gadbois scored the first Northfield goal, Drew Lindner added another just before half, and Nick Meadow scored his first varsity goal to give Northfield the win with 7:00 left in regulation.

    Marauders goalie Mike Kew made 10 saves while Hazen’s Derek Richardson made 21 stops.

    Hazen’s goals were scored by Alex Vetere and Jacob Gilcris.

    Northfield (1-0) plays Randolph on Saturday at home at 11 a.m.
