    BARRE TOWN — The Mass of Christian burial to honor the life of Dorothy M. “Dot” Aiken, of East Street Extension, was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre City. She died July 1, 2014, at the Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin.

    The Rev. Peter O’Leary, pastor of the church, was the celebrant. Crucifer John Santorelli was altar server and led the Prayer of the Faithful.

    Organist and singer Rosemary Badeau accompanied singers Romeo Bilodeau and Ronald Routhier in the hymns “Be Not Afraid,” “Here I Am Lord,” “In the Garden” and “How Great Thou Art.”

    Interment was made in the Aiken family lot at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Washington, where Father O’Leary read the committal prayers.

    A time of fellowship, sharing of memories and luncheon followed at the Hilltop Restaurant in Barre Town.

    The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre, was in charge of the arrangements.
