    WASHINGTON — The First Presbyterian Church of Barre was filled to capacity for the remembrance and life celebration of Marion Carson Milne, of East Orange Road, on Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. She was a great contributor to the civic betterment of her hometown of Washington, Orange County and the entire state of Vermont, who died peacefully at her home on Aug. 11, 2014.

    The Rev. Carl Hilton-VanOsdall, pastor of the church, led the service. Pianist-organist Alison Cheroff accompanied the congregation in the hymn “Amazing Grace” and soloist Patricia Archambeault in the hymn “It Is Well With My Soul.”

    Granddaughter Claire Milne read the 23rd Psalm, and son Christopher Milne read Scripture from the Book of Corinthians and Micah.

    A sharing of memories was rendered by granddaughters Nicole Frey and Elise Milne, grandson Keith Milne, daughter Cathy Frey and son Scott Milne, as well as members of the congregation.

    Fellowship, further memory sharing and luncheon followed at the Barre Canadian Club.

    The interment service preceded at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Washington, where the Rev. Hilton-VanOsdall read the committal prayers.

    The bearers were all of Marion’s grandchildren: Nicole and Alex Frey, and Keith, Elise, Jane, Claire, Lee and George Milne.

    The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre, was in charge of the arrangements.
