Son of ex-police chief wins $110,000 settlement
BRATTLEBORO ó The son of a former Vermont police chief has won a $110,000 settlement after suing the Ohio state patrol for excessive force almost a decade ago.
Eugene Wrinn, of Guilford, said he was disoriented after a 2005 crash and couldnít understand an officerís instructions to stay in his vehicle.
A court announcement Tuesday said Wrinn was hit in the head with a flashlight, had a stun gun used on him and was kicked in the legs.
Wrinn said he was hospitalized with injuries, including head trauma, and ran up more than $30,000 in bills.
Wrinn is the son of the former Brattleboro police chief who retired in June. Ohio Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Craig Cvetan says both parties came to an agreement and the Highway Patrol will be honoring that agreement.MORE IN This Just InWASHINGTON ó Two senior Islamic State group leaders were killed in U.S. Full StoryVATICAN CITY ó Pope Francis rightly got credit for helping bring the U.S. Full StoryMAIDUGURI, Nigeria ó Islamic extremists killed 35 people and kidnapped at least 185 in an attack...
