• Truck damages covered bridge

    LYNDONVILLE — A tractor-trailer damaged a covered bridge on Center Street in Lyndonville because the rig was too tall to fit through, according to Vermont State Police.

    Police also said the driver, Mario Baulanger, 48, of St. Norbert, Quebec, failed to stop after damaging the bridge Wednesday morning. Police eventually found and cited Baulanger, who is due in Caledonia County criminal court Sept. 29 to face a charge of leaving the scene of an accident.

    Police did not say how extensively the bridge was damaged.
