BARRE — The celebration to honor the life of Ellen Richardson Andrews, of Jacques Street, was held Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre. She died unexpectedly on July 30, 2014.

The Rev. David Vanderlinde-Abernathy, pastor of the Barre Congregational Church, led the service. Keyboardist Alison Cheroff played favorite songs of Ellen and her family during the prelude and postlude as well as accompanying the congregation in the hymns “Amazing Grace” and “In a Bulb There Is a Flower.”

Daughter Cindy Rossi read a tribute to her mother, “For Mom,” composed by Ellen’s children, and words of remembrance were offered by her grandsons Christopher Rossi and Jeffrey Lawson.

The bearers were her son, Richard “Rick” Fadden Jr.; grandsons Jeffrey Lawson and Christopher and Anthony Rossi; and nephews Frank Fitzgerald and Gary Richardson.

Burial was made in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center next to her late husband, James D. Andrews. The Rev. Vanderlinde-Abernathy read the committal prayers and led the congregation in one of Ellen’s favorite songs, “When the Saints Go Marching In.”

Fellowship, a sharing time and luncheon followed at the Three Stallion Inn in Randolph.
