• Barre Town Police log: Fireworks, thefts and check fraud

    The following is a sampling of calls to Barre Town police in recent days.



    July 30

    A vehicle broke down on East Montpelier Road.

    There was an animal problem on South Barre Road.

    Fireworks were reportedly being shot off near Morin Road.



    July 31

    On Graniteville Road, there was a juvenile problem.

    A citizen dispute occurred on McCarthy Road.

    Animal problems were reported on routes 64 and 14, Goodhue Lane and Hebert Road.



    Aug. 1

    Dogs were loose on Grace Avenue.

    Property was stolen on McHugh Street.

    A branch was in the roadway on South Barre Road.

    On Quarry Hill Road, a vehicle broke down.



    Aug. 2

    An animal problem was reported on Seager Lane.

    Noise disturbances were reported on Compo Street and East Cobble Hill Road.



    Aug. 3

    Someone used a vehicle to damage a residentís lawn on Osborne Road.

    A theft was reported on East Barre Road.

    Tools were stolen on McHugh Street.

    A citizen dispute occurred on Bianchi Street.



    Aug. 4

    Fireworks were being shot off near Nuissl Road.

    A vehicle crashed on Route 302 around 7:45 a.m. No injuries were reported.

    A theft was reported on McHugh Road.

    On Woodland Drive and Tamarack Lane, dogs were barking.



    Aug. 5

    Check fraud was reported on Church Hill Road.

    A vehicle crashed on Graniteville Road around 7:30 p.m. No injuries were reported.
