• Barre Police log: Thefts, drug deal, assault and gunshots

    The following is a sampling of calls to Barre City police in recent days.

    July 30

    A pregnant woman was assaulted on Fairview Street.

    On North Main Street, a car hit a building. No injuries were reported.

    A two-car crash occurred on Washington Street around 3 p.m. No injuries were reported.

    Drug activity was seen under a bridge on Granite Street.

    A small dog was found on Route 62 and returned to its owner.

    On Hill Street, a dog was trying to get into a chicken coop.

    Six or seven kids were lying in the middle of Summer Street.

    July 31

    Fireworks were reported on Mill Street.

    A female was checking the doors of vehicles on North Main Street.

    On North Main Street, a woman was walking down the road in pajamas and a house coat.

    Five or six people were trying to steal a man’s car and truck and attempting to get into his house on Washington Street.

    Aug. 1

    A man was repeatedly exposing himself on Church Street.

    Someone stole a winning lottery ticket worth $500 from an unlocked vehicle on North Main Street.

    On North Main Street, someone stole a man’s credit card and used it.

    A television was reported stolen on Berlin Street.

    On South Main Street, a grill was on fire in a parking lot.

    Two drunk minors were sitting on the curb on South Main Street.

    Aug. 2

    A cellphone was reported stolen on South Main Street.

    A caller said that baby raccoons needed to be “put down” on Beckley Street.

    Kids were throwing things at cars on South Main Street.

    Gunshots were heard on Cottage Street.

    Aug. 3

    Someone believed they saw someone drag a body down the railroad tracks on South Main Street.

    Gunshots were heard on Sunrise Avenue.

    A large dog attacked another animal on Webster Street.

    Kids were riding bicycles in the roadway on Summer Street.
