Letís not support murder
Iíve noted several letters in the past few weeks, including the Aug. 1 edition of The Times Argus, that wail about the ongoing carnage going on between Israel and the Palestinians. The civilian deaths mount, and despite the fact that Hamas continues to use civilians as human shields, their support continues.
What I havenít seen is the indignation over the mass murders of Arab civilians in Syria and Iraq, by fellow Arabs. Where is the hand-wringing over that? Is that OK? Apparently Arab-on-Arab murder is acceptable?
Iíve also noticed that while Israeli citizen deaths have been fairly low, due to their preparations and defense (bomb shelters and Iron Dome), Palestinian deaths (mostly civilian) have been very high, due to the fact that their ďgovernmentĒ focused exclusively on building bomb shelters for their high mucky-mucks and tunnels for funneling weapons into Gaza. In fact, since the Israeli pullout of Gaza in 2005 that is all theyíve done. No amount of their limited resources have gone to actually protecting their people or bettering their way of life. Really, why should they? Their total strategy (Hamas) for PR relies on civilian deaths. They actually tell their people to get in front of incoming missiles.
Letís not support murder in any form, and see how that goes, shall we?
