    Too much development

I’m sorry to learn of the forthcoming “development” of the grassy field across from Shaw’s at Berlin Corners. When they are finished paving paradise and putting up a parking lot, as the song goes, they can set up a big tree museum across the road from where Staples used to be.

Is this what tourists come to Vermont for? A few years ago, I heard a meadowlark up there; now it is to be asphalt, 60 cars, a bunch of semis, and open all night. With my luck, I’ll wind up in the new psychiatric hospital down the road and watch the whole thing in progress.
